Muslim-American Leader Comments on new Malaria Vaccine

Praise be to Allah. We are thankful to Him for all good that comes to us. We know that He is the Source of All Good and and All Beneficial Knowledge. Everything that comes to benefit mankind has been planned by Him. We credit the sciences and scientists, but nothing comes to address mankind’s condition except that it is already present as an invitation for man’s mind to search for it, bond with it, and benefit from it. It becomes an actionable knowledge for us and we derive benefit from it to serve the good life of mankind everywhere on this earth.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
وَّصَوَّرَكُمۡ فَاَحۡسَنَ صُوَرَكُمۡ وَرَزَقَكُمۡ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِ
That “He formed us and made the form for all of us excellent, and He provides for us from what is good.”
It has been said by present-day international health authorities that malaria has been of the deadliest scourges on human beings in history. The new malaria vaccine that has received the approval of trusted authorities and scientists is considered of the greatest achievements for mankind. It has the potential to save tens of thousands of innocent lives every year. Praise be to Allah.
A huge percentage of those who have suffered from malaria have been on the African continent, and so this is of a special kind of significance for those connected to Africa in the way that we are. We thank Allah for those men and women who have made the sacrifices and contributions so that humanity can be relieved from this scourge.
In studying the malaria problem in Africa over decades a malaria vaccine has been developed that will serve all people. And it is reported that Muhammed the Prophet has said that there is no disease for which Allah has not authorized the cure.
We see in the efficacy of this vaccine a great Sign and a great Reminder. The original constitution of man as G’d has formed him and her is the base for all successes. We know in what direction our intelligence should go when we accept to obey and learn from what Allah has created, then fashioned in and for excellence.
This is the formula for remedies for all maladies, not only the physical ones. This is the formula too for what ails man’s soul. The soul cries out for and is entitled to a full compensation for anything it has been cheated out of. When the minds and bodies of African-American people were burdened by slavery and all manner of inhuman oppressive schemes, it was the soul that cried out for relief and compensation. That compensation did not come from any promise of 40 acres and a mule, nor will it come from any reparations settlement.
When the African-American people accept to be fully responsible for the maintenance of their own social destiny which includes business life, neighborhood life, cultural institutions, etc. without the excessive dependence and expectation that government or any other outside support is due -when that spirit comes into the leadership consciousness that what G’d has provided in the human form in all of its components and dimensions is the base for all of our successes, the remedy for our ailings and failures. Well, then we will be a strong, established people.
I am a Muslim African-American leader from the tradition of the late leaders -the Honorable Elijah Mohammed and his son Imam W. Deen Mohammed, saying this. I am not only saying it to African-Americans or black people in America. I am saying it to Muslims too. I am saying it to America too, and by that I mean all Americans.
The same components that exist for progress for all communities of man, existed first in man’s original constitution as one form of excellence created by the One Lord and Creator for the benefit of all. It is the intelligent human type. Praise be to Allah, and we choose that natural remedy. We don’t need an innoculation, necessarily. Some do, I suppose. Some of our leaders need major spiritual surgery. But for a good number of us the medicines are already present in us if we will follow the direction of our natural intelligence.
